Who We Are

Neighbors residing in all Travis Peak Neighborhoods. We are here to help our friends and neighbors. Please contact us if we can help you in any way.

What is a Neighborhood Watch?

Neighborhood Watch is a division of the National Sheriffs Association. In essence, Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that stresses education and common sense. A neighborhood watch organization empowers neighbors to help themselves by identifying and reporting suspicious activity to make our neighborhoods safer and improve our quality of life. Most neighborhood watch organizations are started with the assistance of local law enforcement agencies. It is an effective way to involve community neighbors to reduce crime and provide community cohesiveness.

Common Goals

  • Bring neighbors together to assess concerns of our neighborhoods.
  • Develop a communication plan for concerns in our neighborhoods.
  • Develop community relations with our deputy sheriffs and first responders.
  • Identify and report suspicious activity in our neighborhoods
  • Provide first response assistance for emergency situations.
  • Provide information on emergency preparedness.
  • Provide outreach to those possibly in need in our neighborhoods.

Mission Statement

We are concerned residents of neighborhoods in the area commonly known as Travis Peak who are coming together to communicate with and empower our neighbors to be proactive in crime prevention and emergency preparedness by developing community relations with TCSO deputy sheriffs and ESD#1 fire and rescue units, identifying and reporting of suspicious activity in our neighborhoods, providing assistance to our first responders in emergency situations, providing information on emergency preparedness, and providing assistance to those who may be in need.

Privacy

We fully understand that there are neighbors who moved out here for the relative isolation and privacy our area provides. Please be assured that we respect your privacy to the highest extent but want you to know that we are still interested in your concerns and are here to help you in any way that we can. Please contact us individually or through a trusted neighbor to discuss your needs and reach an agreement on how we can best assist you while ensuring your privacy.

What we are doing Today

  • Partitioning the Travis Peak Community into smaller blocks and assigning Block Captains to help organize those smaller groups of neighbors.
  • Gathering contact information and developing a communications plan so that we can be effective in communicating events and issues throughout the community.
  • Developing partnerships with Travis County Sheriffs Department and Emergency Services to organize and assist with communication and education to keep our communities safe.
  • Assembling helpful information on water, power, fire, medical, and survival information specific to this community.
